 In the ancient initiation traditions, the cubic stone has always symbolised the Work to be accomplished.
From a ‘rough stone’, the candidate to the Mysteries carves himself into a ‘cubic stone’, into a ‘philosopher’s stone’. On that ‘Square of Construction’, the Spirit-Soul establishes its reign in the Man who has become Perfect. It is the Perfection of the Spirit-Soul-Man.

 In Ussat-les-Bains, in the Ariège valley, there is a cubic granite monument, surrounded by a circle of stones. On one of its sides, one can read the following carved words:
The Threefold Alliance of the Light
Grail, Cathars and Rosycross
Above that cube, an altar table of stone (found by Gadal in the cave of Bethlehem) lies on three stones.
A symbolic testimony of the Threefold Alliance of the Light, that monument is the visible proof, not only of the existence of an ancient Gnostic brotherhood, the Cathars, but also of a living and active gnostic community nowadays.
By that stone of the Testimony (Galaad means ‘rock of testimony’, visible proof of a meeting between God and the consecrated man), past and present meet.
Thanks to those who protect it, the work of liberation undertaken by the Brotherhood of Life is continued; the Quest of the Grail is endlessly renewed.
